Life drawing
Last Friday's life class. Unusually I only got two sketches done this week. I tried to 'block in' the figure as Anthony Ryder recommends in his book and wasn't too comfortable with it but obviously I will need to practice it.
The first one I decided I liked as a line drawing so I choose another angle and did a bit of shading on it. I must say, I don't think this is the nicest pose I've seen but it's all practice isn't it?! 2B pencil on cartridge.

You got an eye for the lines...

I am a fellow EDM'r and you have commented a couple of times on my blog. Just a quick note to say that i love waiting for your new posts. You have such a delicate way of powerfully presenting your subject. Your art seems almost like a religious and reverent approach to your subject. I'm envious of the amount of dedication you devote to detail. WELL DONE, I love your stuff.
I have a copy of Anthony Ryders' book too and love his work, but also find it difficult to do the envelope thing. Your life drawings though are truly stunning.
Your cats too are fabulous. Strangely enough I'm doing a hundred cats project at the moment.. and strangely enough my favourite medium is graphite and your work has really inspired me to get back to using graphite which I haven't done very much with recently.
I am so glad I found your blog and you have me inspired now. Happy New Year to you!
