Nevertheless she persisted...

I doubt many people still read or keep blogs but I'm persisting...Ever since I did the Jamie Oliver sketch I've been meaning to do something similar. There is something I really enjoy about combining portraits and shapes and colours. This was done in the same 6"x6" 'Seawhite of Brighton' sketchbook. Polychromos and Lyra Rembrandt pencils.

I know what you mean, it s a dying art, at least among artists. But I, for one, am always glad to see that you have posted! Thanks for sharing your wonderful work.

Thank you, Rose, that's very kind of you!
I too persist - both in the keeping of a blog and the reading of them. Other forms that tried to take their place cant hold a candle to them. There is a depth and permanence and ease in following and browsing through them that is missing with Facebook, Instagram and the other quick & slapdash ones. I have always enjoyed your drawings and find they remind me I want to get better at my own efforts. Always happy when I see there's a new post here. Interesting idea to "back" your portraits with not just color but color in a particular shape.
