Sketching from a hugely enjoyable show called The Great British Bake Off. I came across this 8"x8" sketchbook in London recently (made by 'Seawhite of Brighton') and it's exactly the same as the little 6"x6" ones I've been trying to fill with random sketches and doodles so straight away it doesn't have a 'precious' feel to it. The smaller size was feeling a bit cramped so it's nice to have that bit of extra space to get more faces in or play with composition.
H, HB and B pencil.

Those are awesome portraits! Are they each only a few inches big? Or are they each from their own page in the sketchbook? You have captured their personalities so well, and make it look so easy, but I know how difficult those portraits truly are! Well done!
Thanks very much Katherine! They are all on the same page, about 2 1/2" - 3" high.
We haven't seen this series of GBBO yet, but these are extraordinary portraits Felicity - do you pause the TV to draw them?
I'm reluctantly getting to the end of my 8"x8" Seawhite of Brighton sketchbook I bought in London 2 years ago - have loved it. Time for another trip!
Thanks Cathy. Yes, paused of course - I couldn't do them otherwise, I'm hopelessly slow! I can record and save and go back to them. Oh, you have one too? I like that it doesn't feel too precious but don't like that there is a right and wrong side to the paper. I'm not so keen on the rougher surface.
Blissful drawings, Felicity. Good enough to eat! ;) I love the way you've caught John's pensive expression.
Thanks Robyn! :)
These are amazing!
Thanks very much, Kimberley!
