Friday's life class

In general, I think how well I like the pose is reflected in how well the drawing turns out and I wasn't too keen on this pose. B pencil on A3 cartridge paper.

Gosh, this looks awfully successful to me! As usual, I so admire your precise pencil work. You deal well with detail but still keep the dynamic of the pose. Stunning.

Thanks very much Casey, I really appreciate it.
This is such a difficult and intricate pose and I think you handled it wonderfully; it comes across very graceful.

Felicity, your work is absolutely amazing!! If my sketching improves to even a quarter of your capability, I'll be very happy indeed. I'll be back to browse your blog more :)

On another note, this looks like a very uncomfortable position for the model. How long do they generally stay in pose?

Thanks a lot Serena! The class is three hours long but with breaks and setting up etc it's probably about two hours drawing time. The model keeps the same pose throughout - although with this one the folds changed every time!

Nevertheless, it's lovely. I love the fluidity of the draping (skirt?) Well done.
