Life drawing

Getting a likeness was a bit of a struggle this week. I feel I've failed to either do the lines or the shading well but overall it looks better than it felt to do! Hairy chests are new to me and, I realised, not too easy to draw well! One of the artists mentioned that drawing new models was more difficult and I think I agree, I could have done with more time to get more sketches done, perhaps a study of the face too.

B and 3B pencil.

When I look at the detail you've put in, I think you've done quite a lot. Don't forget Anthony Ryder needs 4 3-hour sessions to do those intricate studies he does.

I've taken time to look thru a lot of your drawings and am in awe of your skills.

Thanks Casey. I do think of his work quite a lot, perhaps it is unreasonable to expect as much as I do.
Thanks very much Ellis, I appreciate it.
You have all the likeness and more...I enjoy seeing how you do the line drawings and your subtle use of shading. That takes such skill. Yes, I can imagine it must be awkward doing chest hair...I've never done it, never even thought of it....do you just use shading or more pronounced pencil marks? Good drawing.
